Switzerland got its Euro 2024 campaign off to a flying start with a 3-1 win over Hungary in Cologne on Sunday.
Noah Okafor gave the Swiss the lead in the 17th minute, finishing off a fine move involving Xherdan Shaqiri and Remo Freuler. Embolo doubled the lead in the 22nd minute with a powerful header from a Shaqiri corner and Aebischer made it 3-0 just before the break, firing home after a mazy run into the Hungary box.
Hungary pulled a goal back through Callum Styles in the 68th minute, but Switzerland held on to secure the three points.
The win puts Switzerland top of Group A, level on points with Scotland but with a better goal difference. Hungary is bottom of the group after the opening round of fixtures.
